Health Alert: U.S. Embassy – Asuncion, Paraguay (8 April 2020)

Location: Paraguay

Event: The Paraguayan government has extended its order to all persons in Paraguay to remain in their homes until April 19. Necessary travel to obtain food, medical care, or cleaning supplies is still permitted. The order includes limited exceptions for the preservation of life, health, safety, or security.

This order includes the continued closure of all international borders. Cargo will still be permitted to cross the borders. Commercial flights continue to be suspended at all Paraguayan airports, with limited exceptions for repatriation flights.

Please note that our weekly virtual Town Hall for U.S. citizens has been moved to Monday, April 12. A MASCOT message will follow to announce the time.

U.S. government personnel are working from home. No routine consular services will be offered at this time.  To arrange emergency services, such as emergency passport renewal, please email ParaguayACS@state.gov. For life or death emergencies, please continue to call 021-213-715 and follow the prompts, if you are calling from within Paraguay, or 1-888-407-4747 if you are calling from the United States.
