This morning, Ambassador Leslie Bassett, donated ten drug detection dogs to the National Anti-Drugs Agency (SENAD) and to the Paraguayan National Police. These dogs have been trained in the United States to sniff out illicit drugs and will become part of the mentioned institution’s canine units.  In addition, Ambassador Bassett handed out certificates to 12 officers of the SENAD and the Paraguayan National Police who finished a training course for handling these highly trained dogs.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Leslie Bassett said that this support to the canine units of both institutions of the Government of Paraguay demonstrates the continued commitment of the United States to the safety of Paraguay in the fight against drug trafficking and related crimes.
